Mental Health Programs
Step One Evaluation & Assessment
Individuals are referred to Step One for many reasons:
The first step is to evaluate and determine if treatment is necessary. If the treatment team recommends treatment, a thorough Assessment is completed to understand each client’s specific needs. A comprehensive treatment plan is then developed in partnership with the client.
Phase Program
Treatment is offered up to six days a week with day and evening hours, which can be combined to offer the most viable schedule for each client. Each treatment schedule includes Group, Individual, Family/Significant Other Treatment as well as Case Management.
Phase I: Two to six times per week, including one individual per week, the Phase I groups, and the Psycho-Education group. The focus of this phase is on abstinence, foundation building, identifying and understanding the disease concept.
Phase II: Two to four times per week, including one individual per week or bi-weekly, participation in the Phase II groups and any relevant specialty groups. The focus of this phase is on maintaining sobriety through a consistent use of support network, identifying secondary triggers, and relapse prevention. Clients work on processing relationships, family of origin issues, and solidifying spiritual supports.
Phase III: One to two times per week, including one individual per week or bi-weekly. This phase is ongoing and open ended. It includes the Phase III group and relevant specialty groups. The focus of this phase is further emotional work on issues pertaining to internal validation, healthy use of support systems and achieving life goals.
Men’s & Women’s Intensive Program
The Step One Intensive Program operates under the belief that the number of clinical contacts per week is a significant aspect of a sustained and healthy recovery. Intensive contact helps clients to cope with the stresses of community and living situations related to their recovery. Each day is designed specifically to enhance client’s absorption and retention and avoid over saturation. The Intensive Program is a highly structured program that holds clients accountable up to six days per week. The Intensive Program can be modified to allow for incorporation of any of the specialty tracks/groups.
